Otherwise, it pretty much works just the same as everything else does, just with more/different units.Timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07194932284664908806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8406516107920480032.post-3793609487940983822008-11-06T14:02:00.000-08:002008-11-06T14:02:00.000-08:00Doug - I'm all over Pursuit of Glory and will be r...Doug - I'm all over Pursuit of Glory and will be ready when the Vassal module comes out. (There is a beta module available on CSW: http://talk.consimworld.com/WebX?8@90.EUgqehyxxnP.374@.1dd1025b)

I'd really like to use ACTS if possible for card/dice management as well.

Tim - looking forward to the armor scenarios. I'm really curious how the game scales to that.

It's not replacing CC for me (I still prefer that system) but it _is_ replacing Tide of Iron. Now, if they'd just do the Desert theatre...Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17973885708132273602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8406516107920480032.post-30960874690188613382008-11-03T19:17:00.000-08:002008-11-03T19:17:00.000-08:00I've had a chance to play Conflict of Heroes a cou...I've had a chance to play Conflict of Heroes a couple of times, including one of the scenarios with armor, and I've really enjoyed it.

I think your comparison to Combat Commander, but with less "wackiness", is spot on. It has the same element of potentially being interrupted by your opponent, and also has you hoarding your resources (CAPs, mainly), as you never want to be totally out of them, as that would allow your opponent free action without concern for your response.

I also was in the "try before I buy" camp, and after playing a couple of times (four scenarios in total, I think) this was rapidly put on the "must have" list for me!Timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07194932284664908806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8406516107920480032.post-51222512949491400382008-11-02T20:33:00.000-08:002008-11-02T20:33:00.000-08:00So you haven't decided about Devil's Cauldron yet?...So you haven't decided about Devil's Cauldron yet? I knew you had an online game that would more or less decide it's fate, and was curious as to how it was going. Sounds like it's still going, but I am curious as to whether or not you've decided to bail on the system or not. Me, I need more time to decide if the combat system will completely overwhelm me or not (I still have to work through it every time).

And let's not forget about Pursuit of Glory. We should get up a VASSAL game once the module is out (and it should be very soon). There's a ton of chrome, but it looks like it will be very interesting.Dughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08827175240352968894noreply@blogger.com
